Abstract : The study evaluates the utility of constructed wetlands for remediating constructed wetlands using bench scale wetlands (batch type). Specifically the study examines: the degradation of TNT and RDX in contaminated waters in a variety of wetland types; the impact of wetland type on chemical oxygen demand; and tracks the level of degradation products in various wetland types. The study also provides design recommendations for the wetlands demonstration project to be located at the Milan Army Ammunition Plant (MAAP), in Tennessee.
