Abstract : The focus of the effort being carried out under the AFOSR grant is to fully characterize the behavior of rotating stall phenomenon in turbomachinery systems and to assess effectiveness of nonlinear control strategies using both CFD simulations and experiments on the axial compressor facility in the LICCHUS lab. Toward accomplishing this objective, a CFD model has been developed and it has been validated using experimental data available in the literature. The axial compressor facility in the LICCHUS lab will be used for correlation with CFD simulations and for stall controller studies.
