Abstract : This thesis develops a methodology for evaluating mine actuation data. Computer models are developed to analyze actuation data obtained from the Mine Warfare Command by fitting various types of actuation curves to the data. For each actuation curve type, maximum likelihood estimates are used to determine those parameters resulting in the greatest probability of obtaining the observed data.
