Abstract : This paper presents the classification of inertial instrument primary error sources in ballistic missiles, their effect on accuracy and various methods of error compensation and their individual advantages or shortcomings. Methods used in the United States for intercontinental ballistic missiles are also introduced. Finally, several inertial instrument error compensation schemes are analyzed.
