Abstract : We have investigated the kinetic aspects of the shuttle glow. This work includes a review of previous experimental studies and recent flight data, an evaluation of thermal accommodation and desorption of NO on an engineering surface, a suggested glow mechanism, glow intensity predictions for the Skipper Mission and a Monte Carlo analysis of the flow environment.
