Abstract : The effort described here will concentrate on a dynamic passive device via photorefractive beam fanning. The device operates on the principle of dynamic gratings. In the formation of a dynamic grating the incoming laser radiation produces a modulation in the material index of refraction. The index modulation then acts as a real time phase grating and deflects, or scatters, the incident laser light.
