Abstract : A computational procedure has been developed to predict the influence of ship motions in waves on propeller cavitation inception. A test case has been performed on the DD963 hull form and propeller predicting the influence of various sea states on propeller cavitation inception. Simple modifications of the propeller geometry were made to assess the potential of improving propeller cavitation performance with consideration of design trade-offs.
