Abstract : Under the research program entitled Improvement of Operations and Maintenance Techniques (IOMT), a survey of portable hydraulic dredges was undertaken at the Hydraulics Laboratory of Waterways Experiment Station, Vicksburg, MS. Technical Report HL-83-4 (Clark 1983) was published on this study in March 1983. Under the program Dredging Operations Technical Support (DOTS), the guidance provided in the earlier Technical Report was updated and expanded in order to address the aspect of contaminated sediment dredging. Information was compiled on dredging equipment, dredging procedures and monitoring techniques for dredging contaminated sediments.
