Abstract : The study objective was (1) to explore and attempt to quantify U.S. Navy's value in maintaining economic and political stability in East Asia, the Mediterranean littoral and the Middle East; (2) to evaluate regional awareness of importance of overseas Naval presence; and (3) to outline and explore linkages between naval presence and American economic interests overseas.
