Abstract : The work described in this report was initiated in March of 1992 under a program entitled 'Ceramic Bearing Specimen Technology.' The original period of performance of this program was to be 18 months. The objective of the program was to develop a processing technology capable of producing high-quality ceramic bearing balls at a high production rate and at competitive cost. The original program successfully achieved its objectives. However, the opportunity to further improve the technology was apparent from some of the experimental findings, and an additional funding increment with an 18 month period of performance was granted. Cercom submitted an interim report (WL-TR-95-4083) for the original portion of the program in December 1993. The present document details the work performed in the 'Add-On' portion of the program.
