Abstract : A research program was initiated by the U. S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station to develop a procedure for the underwater installation of a membrane system to minimize or eliminate water intrusion in a distressed or deteriorated concrete hydraulic structure. Such a procedure would significantly increase potential applications of the membrane system, because it would eliminate the need for dewatering of the structure prior to repair.
