Abstract : In the light of the measurement data in real atmosphere, the attenuation properties of near infrared radiation of GaAs LED propagating through fog are discussed. Comparisons of the attenuation coefficient with the simultaneously observed meteorological visibility show that there is a close relationship between them. This conclusion is proved by the theoretical calculation.
