Abstract : The purpose of the monitoring program is to answer two basic questions: How do levels of pollutants in fish and wildlife vary according to geographic region? And, what changes are occurring over time? Harmful chemicals can enter the environment from sources other than pesticide application. The persistent and widespread polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are an example of these pollutants.
