Abstract : A study of the upstream migration of adult spring and summer chinook salmon Oncorhynchus tshawytscha and steel head 0. mykiss past the four lower Snake River dams, through the reservoirs, and into the tributaries of the Snake River drainage was initiated in 1991 and continued in 1992 and 1993. The objectives were to evaluate the effect of spill, powerhouse operation, and flows on the rates of passage of the fish at the dams, migration through the reservoirs, the fishway entrances used, fallback at the dams, and movements into the tributaries upstream from the reservoirs.
