Abstract : The Little White Salmon National Fish Hatchery was built in 1896 to supplement the run of tule fall chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha). In succeeding years other species of salmon and trout were reared but coho salmon (0. kisutch) was the only species that established a dependable run. This report is documentation of the changes in fish culture objectives, methods, and stocks during the past 90 years by presenting the history of the Little White Salmon National Fish Hatchery (NFH). Primary sources of data include the daily logs and annual reports.
