Abstract : The Safety Office currently uses accident rates to measure the effectiveness of the Safety and Health program at the U.S. Army Edgewood Research, Development and Engineering Center. The accident rate at the Center continues to be extremely low and does not provide an accurate picture of the program's effectiveness. Therefore, the Safety Office selected, distributed, and analyzed a Safety Climate Survey. The information gathered from the survey was used to select improvement areas, and these improvements will be implemented over the next year.
