Abstract : SHIPMO7 is an updated strip theory program for computing ship motions and sea loads in regular and irregular seas. SHIPMO7 includes appendage forces and viscous forces when evaluating motions and sea loads in the lateral plane. The revised program also introduces a boundary element method which eliminates irregular frequencies from computed hydrodynamic coefficients. The SHIPMO input format has been revised to improve consistency and clarity. The revised output includes improvements to aid checking of input data for ship appendages. In addition to computing ship motions and sea loads, SHIPMO7 also gives derived responses, including local accelerations, slamming, deck wetness, motion-induced interruptions, and added resistance in waves.
