Abstract : This report examines the provision of a high performance memory system for an electrically addressed spatial light modulator (SLM), destined for use in an optical correlator. Two distinct fast memory system designs are proposed. One design is advanced to the stage of specification of major elements of its architecture and timing signals. The other design is developed to the conceptual stage. Appendices review recent high performance semiconductor memory technology.
