Abstract : A lightweight carry-on/carry-off transmission vibration monitoring system has been developed for the Black Hawk helicopter. The system collects vibration data from accelerometers mounted on the transmission while in flight, and then post-processes the data on the ground using AMRL-developed fault detection algorithms. This report describes the system, its installation and operation, and the results of a flight trial conducted by the RAAF Aircraft Research and Development Unit.
