Abstract : The overall goal of this research project is to develop an analytical procedure capable of measuring in situ extracellular glutamate levels in real-time during neurophysiological experiments. Such a system was successfully developed under this grant. This system is capable of measuring extracellular glutamate released from neurons following potassium evoked depolarization.
