Abstract : This collection of papers is from a conference on 'Asian Security to the Year 2000' co-hosted by the Strategic Studies Institute and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. The authors examine the security policies being pursued by many key Asian nations--China, the Koreas, Pakistan, and Southeast Asia, particularly those comprising the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). They identify critical issues which frame both challenges and opportunities for U.S. foreign, economic, and security policies.
