Abstract : The purpose of this report is to impart a basic understanding of Software Engineering Environment (SEE) technology, give an update of its current state, recommend guidelines on when and how to use it, and provide information on its major products. SEE technology is one of several technology domains studied by the Software Technology Support Center (STSC) in fulfillment of its mission to assist Air Force software organizations to identify, evaluate, and adopt technologies that will improve the quality of their software products, their efficiency in producing them, and their ability to accurately predict the cost and schedule of their delivery. The STSC's mission is carried out using technology evaluation, information exchange, and technology insertion. This report is the primary means by which the STSC shares the information it is gathering through its on-going evaluation of SEE technology.
