Abstract : This report examines the diverse and evolving requirements of military satellite communication (Milsatcom) systems with a view toward the future. The characteristics of a Milsatcom system architecture that will be necessary to meet these requirements are described, including an outline of potential transition pathways from today's Milsatcom systems to those of the future.
