Abstract : A field measuring method was devised whereby tests could be made under simulated conditions of an airplane in flight and measurements were taken of the shielding effect of cable sheaths to study the radio interferences which make the reception in the airplane more difficult. The cable to be examined was charged with a definite frequency, and the antenna was extended parallel to 11 and 50 cm away. The lines were measured as single pole and as dipole lines, and with an open and short circuited end. It was found that line shielding of special quality would be superfluous and that the type of shielding used was essentially dependent on mechanical conditions.
