Abstract : A plate and frame heat exchanger experimental test stand was developed. Using this test stand a performance analysis was conducted. The analysis consisted of evaluating the performance of the heat exchanger at varying flow rates and inlet temperatures, to develop an effectiveness-NTU and Log Mean Temperature Difference relationships, under steady state operation. The measured heat rates were compared to the heat rates provided by the manufacturer and good/bad agreement was found. Standard operating procedures for the test stand were developed and implemented.
