Abstract : Hypoxia also known as altitude sickness, is a deficiency of oxygen in the blood. Although there are a variety of situations which can lead to hypoxia it is most often associated with high altitudes and thus is of special concern to the field of aviation. If nothing is done to increase the oxygen level in the blood, death is possible. The two main focuses of this study are at what altitude do these performance decrements occur and what exactly are the cognitive processes affected.
