Abstract : This report presents the results of a study into the future use of evolutionary acquisition (EA) in the procurement of complex systems for the Australian Defense Organization. It identifies the benefits, penalties and risks of EA projects, analyses the different activities involved, and makes recommendations for project planning, management and development activities. Its objective is to provide both an understanding of the dynamics of evolutionary acquisition projects and guidance for the use of EA in practice.
