Abstract : As described in the AFMAN 36-2108 Specialty Description, dated October 1994, Aircrew Egress Systems personnel maintain aircraft egress systems, subsystems, components, and related support equipment (SE). Duties include: performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on egress systems; installing, removing, repairing and modifying egress systems; ensuring egress explosive cartridge activated devices (CAD) and pressure activated devices (PAD) are safe and disarmed prior to performing maintenance; performing operational and functional tests of egress systems, subsystems and components using test equipment and test kits; applying corrosion control procedures to escape systems and related components; operating and maintaining related SE; inspecting egress systems, subsystems, and components for safety, security, and serviceability; inspecting and determining serviceability of CAD/PAD devices on shelf and service life limits; using and disposing of hazardous materials; and using CAMS to record and analyze maintenance actions.
