Abstract : Aerodynamic loads on aircraft lifting surfaces are often due to negative pressures acting on the outer skin of the structure. To simulate this type of loading, rubber pads bonded to the skin and loaded in tension can be used. This report describes the development of a contact adhesive based bonded rubber tension pad system for testing of an Orion P-3 wing leading edge.
