Abstract : Multi-sensor tracking potentially has many advantages over single sensor tracking. This report evaluates the performance of a multi-sensor tracking algorithm, the asynchronous fused Kalman filter, using both simulated and real data from two dissimilar sensors. The real data was collected using a sensor fusion test-bed consisting of two sensors, a pulse Doppler radar and an optical video tracker. The performance of the algorithm has been evaluated under various conditions including clear sky, clutter, multiple targets and intermittent sensor operation. The effect of sensor fusion on the system's robustness to model mismatch has also been investigated.
