Abstract : This report serves as a users manual for the 'General Cylinder' (GCYL) code. GCYL is a user oriented computer code for analyzing the time harmonic TM or TE scattering from a general cylinder. A general cylinder is composed of open or closed perfectly conducting surfaces and/or lossy and inhomogeneous dielectric/ferrite cylinders of arbitrary cross section, as well as thin dielectric strips modeled by uniform or tapered sheet impedances. The perfectly conducting surfaces and the sheet impedance strips may contact or even penetrate the dielectric/ferrite regions. This report provides a description of the inputs and outputs of GCYL.
