Abstract : This investigation was undertaken as a part of a larger effort to determine the implications of using coherent turbulent structures or turbules to calculate acoustic scattering from turbulent media, a process that has been suggested as a possible non-line-of-sight means of detecting enemy assets on the battlefield. I present an analytical solution to a correlate of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation. The correlate equation is for the enstrophy, the square of the vorticity. The solution is an expression for the time history of the enstrophy for a particular choice of the initial velocity distribution.
