Abstract : The corrosion resistance of materials cannot be accurately determined in abiotic electrolytes. Field and laboratory studies document microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) of corrosion resistant materials including copper and nickel alloys, stainless steels containing 6% molybdenum and polymeric composites.
