Abstract : A new method has been discovered for producing a corrosion-resistant aluminum oxide film on aluminum surfaces. The method employs the electronic activation of adsorbed water molecules on the aluminum surface, using electron-bombardment. The artificial oxide film, so produced, exhibits about 25 times higher electrical impedance using electrochemical measurements compared to aluminum oxide films made by conventional oxidation.
