Abstract : This study investigates the doctrinal guidance available to a corps headquarters if required to serve as ajoint task force headquarters and simultaneously be required to warfight the corps. The study contends that a corps being required to simultaneously serve as both headquarters is a viable scenario that is currently not addressed in joint or Army doctrine. The study recommends that a corps headquarters can accomplish this dual tasking but will require augmentation that has not been identified in Army doctrine. The study addresses what augmentation may be needed and possible sources.
