Abstract : Robust and accurate schemes for various 1-D hyperbolized dissipative systems with stiff source terms were developed and tested with success. A Euler preconditioning matrix that maintains the largest possible angle between the eigenvectors of the preconditioned system for the entire Mach-number range, was developed in order to prevent the observed stagnation-point instability, and tested with success. A Navier-Stokes preconditioning matrix that remains stable and effective for all Mach numbers and Reynolds numbers was developed and tested with success.
