Abstract : Biomarkers of chemical exposure and effect have substantial utility in chemical hazard and risk assessments. The overall goal of this research project was to test the hypothesis that changes in the metabolic elimination of the steroid hormone testosterone could serve as a non-invasive biomarker of toxicant exposure and effect in a variety of sentinel species and humans.
