Abstract : Loss of heterozygosity (LOH) at chromosome 11p15 is commonly observed in breast tumors, indicating the presence of one or more tumor suppressor genes, that map to this chromosomal region. However, positional cloning efforts to identify the target genes on 11p15 have been complicated by the large size of this region and complexity of LOH at 11p15. Furthermore, data correlating lip LOH in tumors, with their biological and clinical outcome are rare. Here we have precisely defined the location of a breast tumor suppressor gene between the markers Dl1S1318-D11S1288 (^800kb) within 11p15.5.
