Abstract : We sought to optimize the conditions under which B7-mediated gene transfer could effect antitumor immunity. Transduction of murine mammary carcinoma cell lines and human breast cancer cell lines with adenoviruses expressing B7-1 led to high levels of B7 expression. The expression - of mB7-1 on melanoma cells but not mammary carcinoma cells results in reduced growth rate. Interestingly, adenovims-mediated expression of mB7-1 on mammary carcinoma cells did not result in a reduced tumor growth rate.
