Abstract : The Triad project is a prototype trusted operating system development. The name Triad represents the trio of requirements which this system must satisfy: multilevel security, real time processing, and distributed processing. The goal of this project is to merge and advance the research in these three areas. This paper describes the background, design approach and tradeoffs, features, and architecture of the Triad system.
