Abstract : Our previous studies concentrated on the role of cyclin D1 in breast cancer. In recent studies we have found that cyclin E, which also plays a critical role in the G1 to S progression of the cell cycle, is also frequently overexpressed in breast cancer cell lines. We found that ectopic overexpression of cyclin E stimulates the growth of fibroblast cell lines but inhibits the growth of some mammary epithelial cell lines.
