Abstract : This report results from a contract tasking Vympel Corporation as follows: Contractor shall develop a conceptual design for a low power radar system capable of detection of millimeter particles from a space based platform. The system shall be capable of long term operation and shall be designed to detect particles of one millimeter or larger passing through an area of 40,000 square meters. A system architecture shall be provided that will demonstrate the technical feasibility of the system along with estimates of power and weight requirements.
