Abstract : The New England Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (NED) conducted this study for the Town of Charlestown, Rhode Island under the authority provided by the Corps of Engineers' Section 206 Flood Plain Management Services (FPMS) program. The study investigates the potential future effects of coastal flooding on the community, primarily addressing the economic risk to the community. The study focuses on approximating the dollar value of the potential flood damages to residential structures within the coastal 100-year flood plain and provides an assessment of the potential resulting loss to community tax revenues.
