Abstract : CONTENTS: 1) Software Tracking:The Last Defense Against Failure by Capers Jones: This article concentrates on four worst practices and the factors that most often lead to failure and litigation and gives advice on how to avoid them. 2) Does Project Performance Stability Exist? A Re-examination of CPI and Evaluation of SPI(t) Stability by Kym Henderson and Dr. Ofer Zwikael: This article investigates whether the SPI(t) exhibits similar stability characteristics to those extensively reported for the Cost Performance Index in Earned Value Management. 3) Schedule Adherence:A Useful Measure for Project Management by Walt Lipke: This article utilizes the new practice of Earned Schedule to discuss a proposed measure for further enhancing the practice of Earned Value Management. 4) A Review of Boundary Value Analysis Techniques by Dr. David J. Coe: This article reviews Boundary Value Analysis, a functional testing methodology that can assist in the identification of an effective set of tests. 5) VoIP Softphones by David Premeaux: This article provides a description of a Voice over Internet Protocol Softphone and how it operates. 6) Truth and Confidence: Some of the Realities of Software Project Estimation by Phillip G. Armour: This article explores an alternative view of both software and project estimation and concludes that the process of estimation could be much more valuable than we make it.
