Abstract : The purpose of this study was to systematically investigate and describe the community established as a residence for the wives and children of military servicemen assigned to isolated tours of study in overseas areas. Specifically, this quantitative descriptive study combined population description with variable research investigation. The major variables were to residents' community participation, military identification, and their perception of different aspects of the community environments. Also studied were the role of the neighbor hood chairman and the residents' utilization of available caretaking resources.
