Abstract : Four archeological sites were recorded during a survey level field investigation of an eight mile portion of the Tyronza River in Poinsett County, Arkansas during June 1975. Woodland and Mississippian cultural contexts have been assigned to these sites on the basis of archeological material recovered during the survey. No historical resources were found during the survey. Two of the four archeological sites have been destroyed allowing little, if any, further archeological evidence to be recovered. The two remaining sites are in a position to be protected or salvaged, depending on the decision made by the Corps of Engineers to avoid the sites during their project construction operations along the Tyronza River.
