Abstract : Carbon fibers can conduct electricity and bridge electrical gaps and possibly cause malfunctions if they enter electrical equipment. Air intake filters are effective in reducing the transmission of these fibers. Fiber transmission tests previously had been conducted for a limited set of filter types, air flow speeds, and fiber lengths. This report presents a mathematical model for fiber transmission through filters based on these data.
