Abstract : The host humoral immune response to M. pneumoniae infection was further characterized. Examination of isogenic revertants of spontaneous nonhemadsorbing mutants led to analysis of the biochemical/immunological relatedness of selected virulence-associated M. pneumoniae proteins. Monospecific antiserum against protein P1 was examined for effects on mycoplasma viability, metabolism, and cytadsorption, and was employed for immunoferritin electron microscopy studies. Monoclonal antibodies against M. pneumoniae were produced and initial characterizations were begun. This report includes a final summary for the entire contract period.
