Abstract : A wind tunnel investigation was conducted to document the aerodynamic characteristics and performance of the Grumman 1/8-scale Forward Swept Wing Aircraft model at various Mach numbers, angles of attack, angles of sideslip, and canard deflection angles. In addition, the inlet flow field was surveyed and buffet-onset characteristics were documented. Various model configurations utilized cruise and maneuver wings, small and large canards, wing gloves and fuselage strakes, as well as varied settings of aerodynamic surfaces (e.g., flaperons, rudders). The model configurations were tested at Mach numbers 0.60 to 1.55 with Reynolds number variations from 1.3 x 0.000001 to 4.0 x 0.000001 per foot. Data were obtained at model angles of attack from -4 to 35 deg and sideslip angles from -4 to 10 deg. Additional keywords: Transonic Mach numbers, Tables(Data). (Author)
