Abstract : This thesis describes a FORTRAN software package which simulates the RF section and slot assembly of the Air Force's High Probability Intercept Receiver (HPIR). The software package is written as a group of subroutines which can be used to simulate the HPIR or a large class of general systems consisting of cascaded two-port devices. Devices to be simulated with selected input waveforms can be actual two-ports devices whose frequency response data are known or a variety of devices whose specifications are passed to the respective subroutines, the two-ports for which include three types of band-pass filters, the attenuator, the comparator, the amplitude-modulation detector, and the limiter. Plots of any of the system signals are available in the frequency and time domains and as power spectral density functions of frequency and time. Simulation runs are made to simulate the HPIR system. Plots of the simulated system signals are made and compared to signals measured in the laboratory on the acutual HPIR. (Author)
